Florida's heat and Pierce's disease rule out vinifera almost entirely, which is why the state has one of the most active home-winemaking communities buying California fruit. We ship frozen here year-round; the southern lane stays warm, so frozen simply holds better.
Locally, Florida plantings run to muscadine and blanc du bois. That is a different palette from what we grow — our fruit comes off Lodi, Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, and Sierra Foothills blocks, so you can make a varietally correct Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, or Petite Sirah without waiting on a vineyard that will never ripen it.
