Frequently asked questions
- When can I order fresh grapes?
- Pre-orders open in June and close August 31. Fruit is picked between early September and early November depending on variety and weather. We confirm your pick date by email roughly ten days ahead.
- What is the minimum order?
- Fresh fruit starts at a 10 lb box for most varieties and 25 lbs for allocated blocks. Frozen must is sold in 5-gallon pails. Bulk wine starts at 5 gallons.
- How does shipping work?
- Fresh fruit ships refrigerated Monday through Wednesday so nothing sits in a terminal over the weekend. Frozen must ships packed with dry ice. Supplies ship standard ground. Orders over $200 ship free within California.
- Can I pick up at your facility?
- Yes. Pickup at 6951 Southfront Road in Livermore is free and available seven days a week during harvest, and Monday through Saturday the rest of the year.
- What condition will the grapes arrive in?
- Fresh fruit is field-sorted, cold-stored within hours of picking, and shipped at cellar temperature. If a shipment arrives warm or damaged, photograph it and call us the same day — we replace or refund.
- Do you provide lab numbers?
- Every lot ships with a panel listing Brix, pH, and titratable acidity measured within 24 hours of the pick.
- How much wine will my order make?
- As a rule of thumb, 100 lbs of red grapes yields about 6 gallons of finished wine, or roughly 30 bottles. White grapes yield slightly less because of pressing losses.
- Can I buy bulk wine as a home winemaker?
- Yes, for personal use if you are 21 or older. Licensed wineries can purchase larger volumes with a lab panel and samples provided in advance.
